Halloween, Christmas, and all of that in-between

OK. Worst blogger award goes to.......................ME! Lol

So much has happened since September. Mikayla got her mission call to Reno, Nevada. She reported to the MTC on the 18th of December. She flew to Reno on the 7th of January. I know that she got to call my mom and dad and other siblings. Sadly, I missed her call!

Karalyn is doing amazing! She has been gone almost 5 months now! it has flown by! we were able to talk to her on Christmas, and that was so amazing! Sam talked to her for about 2 seconds. But it was amazing to her to hear him say "I love you Karalyn!" so it was nice :)

Jacob officially started his 2nd block of nursing school on Wednesday. It is going to be a busy semester! But he loves it, so that is all that matters. I started working at Sorellas Elite Fashion, a clothing boutique in Safford, in November. And I love it! It is only 2-3 times a week for about 4 hours each time. So it is a perfect job for me so that I can still raise Sam :)

We went up to Taylor for Christmas Break. That was so fun. We took some family pictures with Jacob's parents. We stayed at there house for the break, it was nice to spend some quality time and not have to worry about work or school.

Here are just some more pictures to sum up the past few months.

 Sam as YODA on Halloween

Yes, that is a glowstick. I am not sure why he put it in his nose, but it was hilarious.

one of my favorite pictures of Sam from November.

at Merry Main Street in Safford. He loves Mickey Mouse and was so excited to see him!

Sam and the Grinch. He wasn't too sure about the Grinch, but he didn't cry! So that was a plus!

 Our door decorated for christmas!

 Sam helping making Christmas Cookies.

Sam with Stella. She is my inlaws new puppy. it is funny because Sam can't say Stella. So he calls her Bella. :)

Short Update on the last 8 months... lol

Wow. Can anyone be worse at this than me? I haven't blogged since December!  SO much has happened since then! Sam turned 2, and I just can't believe how big he is. Jacob was accepted into the Nursing Program at EAC. He began last month! Karalyn was accepted to BYU Hawaii, but ended up putting in her mission papers and is now serving in the Cincinnati Ohio Mission. We are so proud of her! We moved apartments, downsized! Sam has discovered Barney, and is also potty trained most of the way! Yay! Now I am going to blow up the rest with pictures! Enjoy!

Suck at blogging

So I am TERRIBLE at blogging. But I try, so that gets credit right? I thought I would give an update on our life. Jacob and I are finishing our semester of school, and then one more semester of classes and then off to the nursing program for Jacob!!! Yay! He can't wait to be done with school! Sam is growing like a weed. He is starting to talk a little more. Not too much. He has about 6 or 8 words he can say. (mama, dada, please, thank you, uh oh, yes, no, mmmhmmm, bampa). We went to a doctor appointment for him in the valley, and they said that everything is healing great! So we were excited to know that everything was good with his head. Sam loves dancing and playing with cars. He also LOVES being outside. I wish we had a yard so he could play outside more. But eventually we will have one. My mom took him this week so that we could study for our finals. It has been such a huge help. Yay for grandma's! As far as I go, I am just super baby hungry! Everyone is pregnant or having babies! Anyways here are some pictures!

Update on Sam

So three weeks ago, Sam was going down the slide with my sister and his leg got caught somehow, and my sister said that she heard it pop. So, he was crying pretty bad, but there was no swelling, or bruising, or anything for that matter. I thought maybe it was just dislocated or something. So I took him to my husbands Aunt Amy (who is a nurse and also teaches nursing at the college) and asked her opinion. She told me that because he wouldn't stand on it probably indicates that something was wrong. So I ended up going to the ER. Honestly though, I didn't believe it was broken or anything. I just expected a dislocation or something. But Sam got a couple xrays and we then found out that it was broken. They had a fancy name for it, "Non-displaced Tibular Fracture) but in simple terms, for me, its broke. I was like WHAT?? This kids future is not looking bright. I don't really know exactly what happened on the slide to make it break, but nevertheless it was broken. They put him in a splint, and told me to make an appointment so that he could get a cast.  So a week later, that is what we did. But today (hopefully!!!!) he will be getting his cast off :) three weeks with a cast is pretty good, I think anyways. It was a clean break, meaning that the bone broke all the way through, but it didn't move, making for a pretty fast recovery. But that is the update on Sam. I am looking forward to no more hospital visits for a while...

I love my husband

I am so grateful for my husband and best friend Jacob. He works so hard for our family and I am so proud of him for working toward his dream of becoming a nurse and getting his bachelors degree for nursing. He is one of the strongest people I know and he is so sincere and loving. He takes such good care of Sam and I. I could not have asked for a better husband and father to my children. He makes me laugh and always knows just what to say when I am having a bad day. I love that he is a family man and he loves the gospel.  I just want him to know how proud of him I am and how much I love him.

I know this is an older picture of us, but I love it!

Molten Lava

So I am in love with baking. I love to try new recipes, and I am currently wanting to start to learn how to decorate cakes (you know with like fondont and sugar flowers and stuff...). And because I am poor and probably will never go to pastry school, I am going to teach myself. But that is not what this post is about. A while back my hubby and I tried to make a molten lava cake. We FAILED! I didn't realize how hard these amazing little cakes were to make. So, a couple days ago, we decided to try again, I browsed the foodnetwork website and found one recipe from Paula Deen, I love her (except her accent kinda annoys me) but she is brilliant. SO we tried this recipe and it turned out perfect! I was soooo excited! I couldn't believe that we had actually mastered these perfect little cakes! I didn't take a picture because by the time I realized that I wanted to document them, they were gone! I also recently mastered the art of Creme Brulee! GO ME!
